The prognosis for prescription pet foods

As Packaged Facts reports in “Veterinary Services in the U.S.” (October 2023), MRI-Simmons data show the overall percentage of dog/cat households who report buying pet food through their veterinarian at 5% as of 2023, down from 8% in pre-COVID 2019. Virtually all of these purchases would be prescription pet foods, or prescription diets.
