Purina PetCare recorded organic growth of 1.2% through the first nine months of 2025. The company stated that this reflected headwinds in the global pet food industry. The company’s total net sales for the period reached US$17.03 billion (CHF 13.58 billion), down from US$17.58 billion (CHF 14.02 billion) during the same period in 2024. For the third quarter, Purina PetCare posted sales of US$5.46 billion (CHF 4.35 billion), a decline from US$5.72 billion (CHF 4.56 billion) in the third quarter of the previous year. Nevertheless, Purina’s market share improved overall.

Purina performance varied by region. In North America, real internal growth and pricing remained broadly flat. In Latin America, growth was positive and served as a key contributor to overall performance. However, Greater China and developed markets experienced decline. By contrast, emerging markets outside Greater China delivered strong double-digit growth.

In Europe, Purina PetCare continued to perform well and was the main driver of 2% real internal growth in the region. Market performance improved in several key countries, including the United Kingdom, Ireland and France. Across the PetCare portfolio, market share gains were reported, even as other categories such as confectionery experienced losses.

Overall, within the category, growth was led by wet and dry cat food. These gains were partially offset by weaker dynamics in dog food, especially in the dry dog and snack segments. While performance in cat food was stronger, growth in dog food was constrained by softness in mainstream offerings. Brand performance was led by Felix, Pro Plan and ONE, which contributed to mid-single-digit growth in some markets.

The company noted broadly stable performance across the PetCare division from the second to third quarters of the year.
