De Heus subsidiary aims to grow share of Kenya’s feed market

A new facility and expansion of poultry feed production by the local subsidiary of De Heus are expected to double the company’s share of the Kenyan feed market.

Construction of a new feed mill for De Heus Animal Nutrition Kenya is already underway in the south of the East African state, near to the capital city, Nairobi.

Located at Athi River in the county of Machakos, the cost of the investment is KES3 billion (US$23.3 million), reports Capital FM. Completion and commissioning of the new facilities are scheduled for the second half of next year. Annual production capacity will be 200,000 metric tons of feed for poultry, swine and dairy cows.
