Hill's Pet Nutrition Inc. is cosponsoring the 15th Annual Pets Need Dental Care, Too campaign to encourage veterinary health care teams to talk with clients about scheduling regular professional oral health exams for their pets and to establish an at-home dental care routine.
Oral disease is the most frequently diagnosed health problem for pets, according to Hill's. Although daily tooth brushing is advised for dogs and cats, the reality is that only 2% of dog owners follow through.
Hill's is also offering veterinary health care teams the opportunity to win cash and prizes by entering the 2009 Pet Dental Awareness Contest . All veterinary pet hospitals that conduct activities to promote pet dental health are eligible to enter.
