Amid rising interest in its products, Polish pet treat maker Naturalnie z Kotfina is expanding its portfolio and preparing to launch export sales to several markets, according to senior company representatives.

Radosław Kosowski, co-owner of local company Zigger, which owns the brand, told Petfood Industry that Naturalnie z Kotfina offers a wide variety of treats for cats and dogs. At the same time, the company is focused on producing human-grade, craft-style products using locally sourced ingredients.

“We own a farm from which we source different types of natural ingredients, including vegetables, fruit and eggs, that we use to produce a wide range of pet treats," Kosowski said. "We buy meat from local producers. Our philosophy is to keep our production craft and high-quality, and not engage in mass-scale production. We see that consumers are more and more interested in such products, and they are ready to pay extra for quality treats for their pets.”

While maintaining relatively low annual production capacity, Naturalnie z Kotfina is investing in new flavors to grow its treat lineup for cats and dogs.

“We have added a number of new treats to our offer, including treats made with game meat, guinea fowl eggs and also treats made with fruit and hemp,” Kosowski said.

At the same time, the Kosowski noted that Naturalnie z Kotfina is working to launch exports to various countries where similar pet food market trends are emerging. Zigger is headquartered in Bełchatów, in the central Polish region of Łódzkie.

German pet food distributor ends cooperation with Canadian producer

Germany’s Pets Nature has announced the end of its cooperation with Canadian pet food manufacturer Champion Petfoods, with the partnership set to conclude in July 2025.

“Due to the short-term termination of the joint agreement, Pets Nature will no longer be permitted to distribute products under the Orijen and Acana brands after July 11, 2025,” the company said in a statement.

Pets Nature also plans to use the end of its partnership as an opportunity to launch a new premium product line under Lucky Jim, the firm’s private label for dogs. The company said it will “start with premium wet food and snacks, followed by a select dry food line.”
