Pet industry veteran Michael Wood joins the company as COO; Danielle Rios will lead its independent pet channel.

Carnivore Meat Company, which produces raw pet food and treats, has named Michael Wood chief operating officer (COO). Pet industry veteran Wood joins Carnivore with over 30 years of experience in the consumable industry, having most recently served as senior vice president of supply chain at Natural Balance Pet Foods Inc.

Wood’s background spans more than three decades, with prominent positions in companies including Ethos Pet Brands (parent company of Natural Balance Pet Foods & Canidae), Merrick Pet Care and Sow Good Inc. The company said his expertise and proven success in the pet food industry will be significant in helping Carnivore Meat Company continue to meet the rising consumer demand for top-tier pet products. Wood will oversee all operations and supply chain functions for the Green Bay, Wisconsin-based company.

Danielle Rios will focus on independent retailers

The company has also appointed Danielle Rios as its new director of strategic accounts, signaling a strengthened focus on the independent pet retail market. In this newly created role, Rios will lead multi-unit account growth, supporting Carnivore’s expanding reach in neighborhood pet stores across the country alongside the company’s field sales team.

Rios, who previously led national sales for Farmina, brings a decade of experience to Carnivore and is well-regarded in the industry for her commitment to independent retailers. “I’m thrilled to join the talented team at Carnivore Meat Company,” said Rios. “I look forward to collaborating with our field sales team and independent retailers to deliver innovative solutions that enhance the success of neighborhood pet stores and meet the nutrition needs of pet parents.”
