St. Louis–based Native Pet said it has become the first pet supplement brand to be stocked at Whole Foods Market, marking a major retail milestone for the company and the broader pet wellness industry. The rollout includes six of Native Pet’s functional supplements, now available in all 522 Whole Foods stores across the U.S.
"The natural grocery loyalist is already part of Native Pet's growing, cult-like consumer base," said Dan Schaefer, co-founder and CEO of Native Pet. "These stores already have an impressive selection of human supplements for these shoppers and their families, and the same should be true for their pets. Native Pet wants to lead the way."
Whole Foods will carry The Daily, a multivitamin-style supplement, along with Probiotic, Bone Broth, Allergy, Calm, and the newly launched Sockeye Salmon Oil, introduced in February 2025.
Schaefer noted that the U.S. pet supplements market is expected to grow to $2.44 billion this year, citing a 7.5% CAGR (Business Research Company, January 2025).
Earlier this year, Native Pet also expanded into all 443 Sprouts Farmers Market locations. The initial three-product offering — Goat Milk, Pumpkin, and Omega Oil— was followed this spring by three additional items: The Daily, Probiotic, and Bone Broth.
Native Pet’s supplements are formulated with input from board-certified veterinary nutritionists and manufactured in the U.S. The company emphasizes clean-label ingredients and functional support for specific pet health needs.
With its entry into two major natural grocery chains, Native Pet aims to meet the evolving expectations of pet owners seeking wellness products that match the standards they follow for their own diets.
