Datacor, Inc. has announced two strategic developments aimed at enhancing its offerings for manufacturers, including those in the pet food and animal feed industries.
The New Jersey-based software provider has acquired Baytek International, a company known for its Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) and quality control software. The acquisition broadens Datacor’s lab and compliance capabilities.
“Baytek has built a strong reputation for delivering high-quality LIMS and QC solutions, and we are excited to bring their expertise into the Datacor family of solutions,” said Tom Jackson, president of Datacor.
Baytek president Jonathan Richter said, “This partnership marks an exciting new chapter for Baytek. Datacor shares our commitment to delivering powerful, industry-specific solutions.”
Chief AI officer appointed
In a separate move, Datacor appointed Sundar Kuppuswamy as its first chief AI officer. Kuppuswamy brings over two decades of experience in AI and data science, with past roles at Asurion and Sabre.
“Sundar is a proven technology leader whose expertise in AI and data science will be instrumental as we invest in next-generation solutions,” said Jackson. “AI will be critical to helping our customers use software and data as a competitive advantage.”
Kuppuswamy will lead Datacor’s AI strategy, focusing on integrating advanced technologies into its product suite.
“I’m thrilled to join Datacor and be part of an organization committed to driving innovation and excellence in the manufacturing, distribution, and engineering software space,” said Kuppuswamy.
Both moves signal Datacor’s focus on streamlining data use, regulatory compliance, and intelligent software development across the manufacturing supply chain, including for pet food and feed producers.
