Pet Fair Asia 2025 to expand with focus on supply chain, small pet sector

The August event in Shanghai expects record international attendance and will highlight innovations in pet supply, small animals and smart manufacturing technologies.

Pet Fair Asia 2025 will return to Shanghai, China, from August 20–24 for its 27th edition, with organizers projecting record exhibitor and visitor numbers as the show expands into new segments of the global pet industry. More than 2,500 companies are expected to exhibit across 310,000 square meters, marking continued growth for Asia-Pacific’s largest pet trade show.

A key area of expansion is Pet Fair Asia Supply, the supply chain-focused co-located show launched in 2023. In response to rising demand, the section will add an outdoor hall this year, totaling eight halls and 55,000 square meters, up 30% from 2024. The section will feature exhibitors offering smart factory and intelligent warehousing solutions for the pet food and product sectors.

Pet Fair Asia 2025 will also debut a new dedicated space for small pets, reptiles, and aquatics, a category that now accounts for 20% of China’s domestic pet market, behind only dogs and cats. This new section will occupy 15,000 square meters and highlight health, nutrition and care products for birds, rabbits, hamsters, fish and reptiles.

According to organizers, international interest continues to rise, with more than 124,000 professionals from 91 countries attending the 2024 edition. Overseas visitors made up 10% of total attendance, driven by sharp growth from emerging markets. The 2025 show is expected to build on that momentum, particularly with visa-free access now available for citizens from Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Peru and Uruguay.

To support strategic business development, the Pet Fair Asia Buyer Club has returned for 2025. The initiative offers selected buyers complimentary hotel stays, curated matchmaking services, and access to exclusive networking events. Applications will remain open through June 30.

Visitor registration for the show is free and open now at Pet Fair Asia Registration. Additional details about the Buyer Club can be found here.
