The Nutriment Company (TNC), one of Europe's largest suppliers of natural, premium pet nutrition, has announced the acquisition of Graf Barf, a raw pet food producer, from the current owner CDS Hackner.

Building on what TNC describes as a "strong start" to the second quarter of 2025, the Stockholm-based group's latest acquisition aims to establish a new frozen logistics hub to serve the European market.

According to the company, the acquisition will not only strengthen its geographic footprint in Germany, where it already markets brands such as Barfgold, DIBO, Nutriment and AniForte, but will also serve as a foundation for further growth into Switzerland and Austria.

TNC expects this combined expertise in raw pet food production and cold logistics to accelerate the "raw feeding movement" among pet owners both in Germany and beyond.

Graf Barf's production facility in Crailsheim (120 kilometers west of Stuttgart, Germany) will become TNC's central distribution center for Europe, supporting a multi-brand, one-stop shop offering across mainland Europe.

Sixth acquisition of 2025

The Graf Barf acquisition represents TNC's sixth major purchase in 2025, following the April acquisition of UK-based Bulmer Pet Foods as part of its ongoing strategy to make raw feeding more accessible across Europe.

TNC has built a portfolio of nearly 20 brands across Europe through an aggressive acquisition strategy. Earlier in 2025, the company acquired BAF Petfood in Germany and Puromenu in Spain. In January, TNC purchased The Dog's Butcher, a UK-based raw dog food brand known for its locally sourced ingredients and wide product range, and Your Pet Nutrition, a UK company in the veterinarian-developed pet supplement space.

The company's expansion continued from its 2024 acquisition spree. In early August 2024, TNC acquired PETMAN, a German raw pet food company founded in the 1990s and headquartered in Wuppertal, which produces raw pet food products for dogs, cats, fish and reptiles. PETMAN became the fifth pet food company in Germany belonging to TNC, following previous acquisitions of Dibo, Barfgold, Aniforte and Haustierkost.

Later in August 2024, TNC acquired Pet Treats Wholesale, a natural treats manufacturer from the UK. In July 2024, TNC completed the acquisition of raw pet food processor Natural Instinct, also based in the UK. The company also acquired Totally Natural Pet Products, a Scottish raw dog food manufacturer, in April 2024.
