
Hill's Pet Nutrition has opened registration for its 2025 Global Symposium, titled "Strong Science, Long Lives," scheduled for October 26-28 in Phoenix, Arizona, U.S. The event builds on Hill's research foundation in senior pet health and will be available both in-person and via global livestream.
The symposium offers free virtual access through Hill's Veterinary Academy platform in English, Spanish and French. Virtual attendees will also receive on-demand access to all sessions following the live event.
More than 18 experts will present on topics including veterinary geroscience, cognitive dysfunction syndrome, mobility issues, and clinical approaches for senior patients with multiple comorbidities. The program aims to provide veterinarians with insights and practical applications for clinical decision-making in senior pet care.
"The 'Strong Science, Long Lives' theme of this year's Hill's Global Symposium perfectly encapsulates our mission," said Dr. Jolle Kirpensteijn, chief veterinary officer of Hill's Pet Nutrition. Featured speakers include keynote presenter Nicole Ehrhart, VMD, MS, DACVS, ACVS Founding Fellow, Surgical Oncology, director of Columbine Health Systems Center for Health Aging and professor at Colorado State University, who will discuss understanding the aging process through Great Danes and longevity science.
Additional keynote speaker Natasha Olby, Vet MB, PhD, MRCVS, DACVIM (Neurology), professor of veterinary neurology and neurosurgery at North Carolina State University, will address mobility loss in senior dogs.
Other presenters include Katie Tolbert, DVM, PhD, DACVIM (SAIM, SA Nutrition), clinical associate professor in small animal and comparative gastroenterology at Texas A&M University, discussing frailty and comorbidities in geriatric patients, and Hill's scientists Allison McGrath, M.S., and Lisa Restine, DVM, DABVP (Feline), who will examine nutrition's role in feline cognition.
