
The Pet Sustainability Coalition (PSC) and Astro Loyalty are launching a new Earth Week retail event aimed at promoting sustainable pet products through independent pet stores.
Scheduled for April 20–26, the program will feature special offers from brands accredited by PSC. Those offers will be distributed through Astro Loyalty’s platform, where independent retailers can choose to activate them in-store.
The campaign is designed to connect consumers with products from companies that meet defined sustainability standards, while supporting local pet retailers.
The initiative was developed with input from coalition members, including Portland Pet Food Company, which helped support program development.
Under the program structure, participating brands publish Earth Week offers, retailers opt in to activate those promotions, and consumers can access discounts on qualifying products in-store.
PSC administers an accreditation program that evaluates companies’ environmental and social practices through a third-party assessment. To qualify, companies must complete an impact assessment, meet minimum performance benchmarks, provide supporting documentation, and demonstrate ongoing improvement.

Consumers can identify participating products in stores during the event period through designated Earth Week signage. Retailers can opt into the program through Astro Loyalty’s platform.
