PSC hosting Sustainability Section at Global Pet Expo

The session will feature eight accredited members.

Pet Sustainability Coalition (PSC), the leading sustainability partner in the pet industry, is set to host the industry’s inaugural Sustainability Section at Global Pet Expo. In collaboration with the American Pet Products Association (APPA), this groundbreaking section, featuring eight accredited members, will be easily identifiable on the floor map and marked by a hanging aisle sign starting from the PSC Booth #541.

Jim Lamancusa, executive director of Pet Sustainability Coalition, expresses excitement about APPA's significant commitment to industry sustainability. Lamancusa notes the rising trend of 80% of pet owners considering sustainability in purchasing decisions, with sustainable pet products growing at a rate 7.1 times faster than conventional ones. This initiative provides a platform to showcase top-performing accredited members in the sustainability arena.

Sponsored by industry leaders such as eShipping, Healthy Pet, inClover, MFiber and West Paw, the section highlights companies that have achieved top performer status through the PSC Accreditation process. Accreditation involves a comprehensive assessment, third-party verification and a commitment to continuous improvement. The participating companies include Austin and Kat, BetterBone, Bright Planet, Brutus Broth, dsm-fermenich, inClover, Mondi Jackson and Tuesday’s Natural Dog Company.

Jeremy Baker, chief growth officer at APPA, emphasizes the association's dedication to the sustainability movement within the pet industry. The collaboration with PSC to create this pilot section offers Expo attendees insight into PSC's highest performers, showcasing how sustainability aligns with and supports member businesses.
