The American Feed Industry Association (AFIA) has released its annual "Our Industry, Our Promise" report, which highlights the operational challenges and opportunities faced by U.S. feed and pet food manufacturers. The report outlines the animal food industry's contributions to the U.S. and global economies, the factors contributing to an uncertain business environment and the AFIA's efforts to modernize federal regulation and enhance safety and sustainability in the industry.
Carlos González, Ph.D., the 2023-24 AFIA board chair and vice president of global regulatory affairs at Hill's Pet Nutrition, expressed gratitude to AFIA members and staff for their dedication, stating, "Our future is bright, and it will be brighter with your participation."
The report covers AFIA's activities during its fiscal year from May 1, 2023, to April 30, 2024, and includes the following key areas:
