The Pet Sustainability Coalition (PSC) has released a new case study examining how Brazil-based pet food brand Natoo has embedded sustainability throughout its operations — from solar-powered manufacturing to in-store biodiversity campaigns and global conservation efforts.

Natoo, a PSC Accredited and Champion member, is owned by PremieRpet, which has committed $500,000 over five years to support jaguar conservation efforts. According to PSC, the brand has also activated in-store displays at 100 retail locations to promote biodiversity messaging and engage consumers at the shelf.

“The jaguar is the biggest feline in the Americas, and a beautiful creature to spot," said Fernando Torres Maluf, director de exportação and VP international business at Natoo. "By preserving the jaguar and helping ecotourism thrive, you help protect many other species as well."

Natoo’s sustainability efforts are documented in PSC’s new case study, How Natoo Made Sustainability Wildly Authentic, and include LEED Gold-certified facilities powered entirely by renewable energy, carbon measurement and offsetting through ClimatePartner, and awareness initiatives such as the Jaguar Parade and the Tennis Ball Boy Dogs program at the Rio Open.

“Natoo's work with jaguar conservation embodies the concept of progress over perfection; There's always a next step to take to make the world a better place,” said Allison Reser, director of sustainability and innovation at PSC. “Plus, the Natoo team always lights up with enthusiasm when we talk to them about jaguars, it's easy to tell they are passionate about it.”

The company also completed the United Nations SDG Action Manager Assessment, focusing on responsible production and decent work goals.

PSC emphasizes that Natoo’s example demonstrates how pet food businesses can make sustainability central to strategy, not just an add-on.
