Gott Pet Products announces expansion project

Gott Pet Products plans expansion.

Wixon, Inc., parent company of Gott Pet Products, recently announced that it is investing over $15 million in a large-scale project after experiencing increasing demands and a growing market for its products, which includes Hound & Gatos super-premium pet food and Charlee Bear natural treats. “Based on the escalating annual growth rate and steadily increasing retail sales, it became clear that we would need more room for success,” commented Peter Gottsacker, president of Wixon and Gott Pet Products.

In addition to purchasing new manufacturing and packaging machinery, project plans include acquiring a 100,000-square-foot facility in an industrial park near the headquarters of this Wisconsin-based, family-owned firm. Besides assuring retailers of a steady supply of Hound & Gatos and Charlee Bear products, this expansion is expected to create 40 new jobs over the next three years. State tax income credits will be provided by the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation. According to Patrick McGarry, chief operating officer of Gott Pet Products, “This extensive expansion will enable us to meet the needs of our retailer partners for years to come.”

Since its inception, Gott Pet Products has taken two established brands and elevated them to the next level by introducing new packaging and product lines, among other things. The Charlee Bear brand is loved by dogs of all ages and sizes for its natural line of treats that include Grain Free Crunch, Original Crunch, Meaty Bites and Bearnola Bites. Hound & Gatos continues to be a popular favorite among pet parents thanks to its natural, heart healthy dry and canned recipes.
