While WellPet is based in Tewksbury, Massachusetts, USA, the company says Sojos will continue to be based in Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA. Introduced to pet parents in 1985, Sojos pioneered and today is one of the leading brands in the fast-growing category of raw nutrition for pets.
WellPet says there will be no changes in the day-to-day operations of either company and that Sojos co-owners Ward and Maggie Johnson will help with the transition.
“Ward and Maggie Johnson have built one of the most exciting brands in raw nutrition and a first class team and manufacturing facility,” said WellPet CEO Tim Callahan. “WellPet and Sojos share a mission to transform the lives of pets by providing the very best in natural nutrition and, now, our collaboration will enable them to grow and serve more pet families while staying true to the Sojos we know and love.”
“Our dream has always been to fundamentally change the way that people feed their pets and with WellPet we believe Sojos is in an even better position to make that dream a reality,” said Sojos’ Ward Johnson.
“WellPet and Sojos share a mission of transforming the lives of pets by providing the very best in natural nutrition,” a WellPet spokesperson told Petfood Industry. “Sojos helped to pioneer the raw nutrition category, and our collaboration will enable them to grow and serve more pet families while staying true to the Sojos we know and love. Now, pet parents can turn to us for five trusted brands of natural pet food and treats, including the very best in raw nutrition.”
Those five brands are Wellness, Holistic Select, Eagle Pack, Old Mother Hubbard and Sojos.
