The Petfood Forum 2022 content advisory board is seeking abstracts for noncommercial oral presentations and research posters, due November 1, 2021.

Petfood Forum 2022 is scheduled for May 2-4 at the Kansas City Convention Center in Kansas City, Missouri, U.S. The conference will likely include a virtual component in addition to the in-person event, but interested speakers should not submit an abstract, especially for an oral presentation, if they are not sure if they will be able to attend Petfood Forum in Kansas City during those dates.

Pet food topics of interest

Conference organizers are looking for abstracts highlighting the latest research on companion animal nutrition, novel ingredients, new processing, packaging, safety or testing technologies or protocols. Other topics of interest include data, trends and predictions for the pet food market, global or for specific regions; pet food formats; retailing information, including e-commerce; marketing information, including social media; product development; and specific regulatory updates or information.

Selection criteria for pet food abstracts

An advisory board of pet food industry experts will evaluate all submissions for relevance of topic, presence of new or innovative information, concepts or research — originality is key — and the proposed speaker’s experience or background with the topic.

Each submission will be evaluated on its own merits against these criteria but also in relation to other papers received — for example, it is highly unlikely two papers on the same or a very similar subject would be selected for presentations — and to how many sessions are scheduled for a given topic area.

No abstract will be considered if it seems commercial or if it has been published or presented prior to Petfood Forum 2022. Abstracts similar in title or content to previously presented material should include significant new information.

Submissions will be accepted through November 1, 2021, with selection decisions communicated about two months later.

Still time to register for Petfood Forum 2021

Meanwhile, registration is still open for Petfood Forum 2021, September 22-24, also in Kansas City. An on-demand for people unable to travel will also be available beginning September 27, 2021.
