The Global Alliance of Pet Food Associations (GAPFA) will hold its 2025 Technical Congress and Annual General Meeting (AGM) from June 23–25 in Bangkok, Thailand, hosted by the Petfood Industry Association of Thailand (PIA).
The event will convene pet food industry leaders, international organizations, regulators, and association representatives to discuss global challenges and strategies around pet food safety, sustainable growth, innovation, and trade facilitation. The 2025 theme, “Elevating Industry Growth through Commercial Diets, Safety, and Transparency,” underscores GAPFA’s focus on collaboration and standards-setting.
Featured speakers include the GAPFA President and senior representatives from multinational pet food companies, the UN World Food Program, and the World Organization for Animal Health (WOAH)'s Terrestrial Animal Health Commission.
Key event components include:
- Technical Congress (June 23): Presentations from international companies, organizations, and regulators on pet food safety, biosecurity, and sustainable growth.
- GAPFA Workstream Meetings (June 24): Members will participate in focused sessions on nutrition, food safety, trade, and communications.
- GAPFA AGM (June 25): Members will review governance and strategic priorities for the global pet food industry.
- Networking Activities: Attendees will join a series of cultural and social events, including a meet-and-greet and group outings.
GAPFA says the 2025 event aims to encourage open dialogue between industry and regulatory bodies to support safe, transparent, and science-based development of commercial pet food globally.
