ProMach has acquired DJS Systems, a Michigan, U.S.-based automation provider focused on disposable food service packaging, expanding its reach in secondary packaging and automation solutions for the food industry.
Founded in 2003, DJS Systems is known for its precision counting, vertical bagging, thermoforming automation and custom-designed systems tailored to disposable packaging challenges. The company will join ProMach’s Secondary Packaging business unit and continue operating from its Homer, Michigan, facility with more than 70 employees.
“We are excited to welcome the DJS team to ProMach,” said Mark Anderson, ProMach president and CEO. “Their addition to our business continues the expansion of our food-related portfolio, and it significantly expands our reach in the disposable food packaging automation sector.”
Jeff and Steve Sherman will continue to lead the DJS team. Jeff Sherman will serve as VP of sales and operations, and Steve Sherman will serve as VP of engineering. Both will report to Tom Crutchfield, VP and general manager of ProMach’s Rennco brand.
“Joining ProMach is an exciting opportunity that will allow us to continue and expand our original vision that has guided us for over 20 years,” said Jeff Sherman. “Our philosophy has always been to be a solution provider, not just a machine manufacturer.”
The acquisition aligns DJS Systems with other ProMach product brands, including Rennco, and is intended to support a more comprehensive offering in packaging automation for food service products.
“The addition of DJS to our product line allows us to offer an even broader portfolio of solutions,” said Hutch Coburn, group president of ProMach’s Secondary Packaging business unit.
