
Trouw Nutrition, a Nutreco company, has opened a pet-dedicated premix plant in Griñón, Spain. The existing facility was fully transformed and equipped for pet nutrition, expanding the company's companion animal production footprint in Europe.
According to the company, the Griñón plant is FSSC 22000 certified and operates with full traceability across its supply chain. It runs as a zero-CO₂-emissions facility powered entirely by renewable electricity and holds Sedex membership to support responsible sourcing.

Vicky Brierley, pet technical and nutrition manager at Trouw Nutrition, added pet food requires precision, safety and deep nutritional expertise. "This new pet-dedicated facility enables us to deliver the high-accuracy, consistent premix formulations required across all types of pet food," Brierley said. "It represents an exciting step forward for our customers and for the future of pet nutrition."
The facility is now fully operational. With the addition of the Griñón plant, Trouw Nutrition has two pet-dedicated production sites in Europe.
