Feed additive producer Aleris Nutrition to open plant in Wisconsin

The Brazilian company’s first manufacturing facility in the US will also serve as its US base of operations.

Brazilian livestock feed additive producer Aleris Nutrition plans to open its first U.S. manufacturing plant, in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin.

The 15,795-square-foot facility will serve as the company’s U.S. base of operations and support the continued expansion of its product portfolio across the North American market.

Aleris Nutrition specializes in natural animal nutrition solutions, including yeast-derived ingredients, feed additives, microbiome-focused technologies and performance-enhancing nutritional products for poultry, swine, ruminants, aquaculture and companion animals. The company combines biotechnology and scientific research to improve animal health, productivity and welfare while helping producers meet evolving market demands.

“Aleris has experienced significant growth in the United States in recent years, and that growth naturally led us to consider this market the right location for our international expansion. Establishing operations here will allow us to maintain product consistency while offering our customers greater supply stability,” said Daniel Morais, CEO of Aleris Nutrition. “We are glad to land in Menomonee Falls and look forward to starting our operation.”

Wisconsin’s strong manufacturing leadership, agricultural heritage and central location made the state an attractive choice for the company’s U.S. expansion. WEDC Secretary and CEO John W. Miller welcomed Aleris’s move to Wisconsin.

“Aleris’s decision reaffirms Wisconsin’s continued appeal as a destination for foreign direct investment, particularly among companies operating at the intersection of agriculture, biotechnology, food ingredients and animal health,” Miller said.

“Companies like Aleris Nutrition are attracted to our state because of its unique combination of agricultural heritage, manufacturing excellence, research capabilities, and collaborative business environment. Wisconsin provides international companies with the resources, partnerships, and market access needed to succeed and grow in North America.”

The Menomonee Falls facility represents Aleris Nutrition’s first physical presence in Wisconsin and will position the company to better serve customers throughout the United States. Initial operations are expected to focus on yeast fermentation and specialty feed additives, and the company expects to employ 15 individuals at the facility.

“Menomonee Falls offers the strong manufacturing base, skilled workforce and strategic location that make it an ideal place for Aleris Nutrition to establish its first U.S. operation,” said Matt Caran, community development director for the Village of Menomonee Falls. “We’re excited to welcome Aleris Nutrition to our community.”

The Waukesha County Center for Growth (WCCG) and the Milwaukee 7 Regional Partnership (M7) also assisted the company throughout the site selection and expansion process.

“Aleris Nutrition’s decision to establish its first U.S. manufacturing operation in Menomonee Falls is a strong reflection of the advantages Waukesha County offers growing international companies,” said Therese Thill, executive director of the Waukesha County Center for Growth. “We are pleased to support Aleris as it begins this next chapter of growth in our community.”

“We’re excited to welcome Aleris Nutrition to southeast Wisconsin as they establish their first U.S. manufacturing operation,” said Rebecca Gries, executive director of the Milwaukee 7 Regional Partnership. “Aleris’ investment reflects the confidence international companies have in our region’s manufacturing capabilities and talented workforce. We are proud to support Aleris’ continued growth and its investment in our region.”
