The Pet Sustainability Coalition (PSC) announces the commencement of its third annual Earth Day Rally, starting April 1, 2024. With the aim of inspiring 50,000+ actions in a 30-day sprint, the rally seeks to promote a better future for pets, people and the planet. PSC invites pet industry professionals to participate at zero cost, empowering them to undertake thousands of micro-actions contributing to a reduction in CO2 emissions.
The 2024 Earth Day Rally is supported by esteemed partners such as the American Pet Products Association (APPA), World Pet Association (WPA), the North American Veterinary Community (NAVC) and others, alongside Defender sponsor Earth Animal.
Participants will utilize the CO2 Hero mobile app, facilitating simple daily actions while quantifying their CO2 emission reductions. Through friendly competition, individuals and companies will track their progress and witness the collective impact of their efforts.
Jim Lamancusa, executive director of the Pet Sustainability Coalition, expressed enthusiasm for the event, stating, "The Earth Day Rally inspires individuals across the pet community to build sustainable habits and contribute to a healthier planet."
To further bolster engagement, APPA, WPA and NAVC are running a Matching Gift campaign, donating $1.00 for every completed action to PSC's Impact Fund. The success of this initiative ensures ongoing support for PSC's sustainability programs.
Last year's Earth Day Rally witnessed nearly 600 participants completing over 17,000 actions, demonstrating the industry's commitment to sustainability. This year, PSC aims to surpass these achievements with the support of the entire pet industry.
