Petfood Industry is currently conducting its third quarterly survey to calculate the latest Petfood Industry Confidence Index. Petfood Industry readers may complete an anonymous online questionnaire, which will take 5 to 7 minutes. Participants will receive a preview of the results before they are published each quarter.

“The index is calculated each quarter on the basis of pet food manufacturers’ opinions on current and future expectations of their performance in the markets they serve,” said Joyce Neth, vice president and director of audience development and research at WATT Global Media.
The primary objective is to create a quarterly industry insights and trends report. That report will be an in-depth look into the world of pet food driven by the opinions of the people involved in the industry every day. The report will be an insider perspective to the pet food industry direct from manufacturers, and will include tracking questions that follow industry changes over time. There will also be topical questions about current events in the pet food industry that quarter.
“The index reflects prevailing business conditions and likely developments for the months ahead,” said Neth. “These insights will give the industry and its suppliers benchmarks for current conditions and indicators of future development and will help Petfood Industry focus on providing relevant content to readers.”
The survey results have been particularly important in 2020, as the global pandemic and widespread economic uncertainty affect every industry, including pet food.
Petfood Industry is partnering with Communications For Research (CFR), a St. Louis, Missouri, USA-based research firm with 22 years’ experience conducting market research in pet food and animal health sectors. CFR will collect the responses to the Petfood Industry Confidence Index survey each quarter, analyze for the quarterly report and, over time, provide insight into trends in the pet food market across the globe. Participants' individual responses will be completely anonymous, with results reported in aggregate, and by geographic region when possible.
Q1 results: Confidence in future high among pet food executives
