Ukrainian pet food producer UAB Kormotech has initiated a major expansion in Kėdainiai, Lithuania, with a new manufacturing facility set to be built through a EUR26.5 million (US$28 million) contract with construction company AB Panevėžio statybos trestas. The new plant, which will span around 16,000 square meters (172,222 square feet), will support Kormotech’s production of wet pet food for cats and dogs, which the company said will enhance its capacity to meet increasing demand across its markets.

The facility, located on Pažangos Street, will feature dedicated spaces for production, administration and storage. Construction and design are expected to be completed within 13 months, marking a rapid development timeline for the new site. Kormotech has also emphasized its commitment to sustainability in this project, aiming for high environmental standards and targeting a top-tier BREEAM In-Use certification for building sustainability. This aligns with Kormotech's broader environmental goals, which focus on responsible production practices and minimizing ecological impact.

Through this strategic expansion, Kormotech said it will continue its growth trajectory within the European pet food market, while reinforcing its dedication to sustainable production methods.
