The Blue Buffalo Foundation for Cancer Research, a branch of the Blue Buffalo petfood company , is sponsoring Pet Cancer Awareness Month during the month of May, according to a press release from the company.
Over 700 in-store education specialists are distributing pet cancer awareness brochures across the US that list 10 early warning signs to pet owners.
The company also raises research funds by selling "Protect Our Pets" wristbands and contributes up to US$1 for every bag of Blue dog food and Blue Spa Select cat food that is sold during PCA Month, according to the release.
"Now that the Blue brand has national distribution in over 3,000 … pet stores, we were able to raise over a quarter of a million dollars [for research]," said David Petrie, president of the BBFCR.
