Geelen Counterflow recently held its second Dryer and Cooler Training in Haelen, the Netherlands.
Twenty participants from the petfood and aqua feed industries worldwide came to follow lectures, seminars and workshops on subjects such as mass and energy balance, moisture uniformity, energy efficiency and food safety, according to the company.
The first day involved physics and arithmetic to understand the design and control of a cooler or dryer. The second day included workshops on burners, product distribution, steam heaters, moisture measurement and control systems. Food safety was on the agenda for the final day.
Next year's Dryer and Cooler Training is scheduled for October in Roermond, the Netherlands.
