The  12th Trade and Festival Japan Pet Fair   will be held March 26 through 29, 2009 at the  Pacifico Yokohama  located in Yokohama City, Japan, according to a press release by the fair's organizer,  Japan Pet Products Manufacturers Association  (JPPMA).

Since 1986, this bi-annual event has played a role in the global pet trade by providing pet traders worldwide with business opportunities. In the last show held in Yokohama in 2007, 118 companies presented 558 exhibition booths to approximately 150,000 visitors, including some 44,000 professionals.

Displays in the coming fair will include petfoods, accessories and equipment for a wide range of pets, from dogs and cats to aquarium fish, reptiles, birds and small animals. In addition to Japanese exhibitors, a number of foreign companies are expected to join again from the USA, Australia, Canada, Europe and others.

"Year by year, Japan Pet Fair has been growing in terms of the numbers of exhibitors and visitors, and we hope the 2009 event will bring another success, thereby enabling the participants to actively exchange and trade each other," said Akio Hayashi, the president of the JPPMA.
