Several manufacturers recently issued recalls for petfood products, due to concerns about products being contaminated with Salmonella.

Merrick Pet Care Inc. recalled one lot of its Beef Filet Squares for dogs. The treats were sold in 10-ounce plastic bags with a "best by" date of March 24, 2012, and the lot number 10084TL7. Consumers who purchased the product can contact the company at +1.800.664.7387.

Feline’s Pride voluntarily recalled its Natural Chicken Formula raw food for cats and kittens. The product was produced on June 10, packaged in 2.5-pound plastic containers and sold frozen to consumers nationwide. This recall affects only orders placed and shipped between June 10 and June 17. Consumers who purchased the product can call +1.716.580.3096.

United Pet Group Inc. voluntarily expanded its recent recall of Pro-Pet Adult Daily Vitamin Supplement tablets for dogs to include additional supplements for both dogs and cats. The recall affects products with expiration dates from January 2013 to June 2013. A complete list of recalled products is available on the Food and Drug Administration website.
