Wagg Foods reduced its transport miles by switching to a new logistics company in an effort to become more environmentally friendly, according to a Works Managmentarticle.
The company's desire to reduce transport miles across its supply chain and overcome production problems caused by an unreliable pallet delivery service led to the decision to switch to a flexible, one-way trip pallet solution from IPP Logipal. IPP Logipal's pallets are suited to Wagg's automated palletizing processes and are used to deliver the petfood products to customers across Europe. Once utilized, pallet collections and inspections are arranged by IPP Logipal. This eliminates previously wasted time and labor costs associated with sorting out damaged pallets and lost deliveries, according to Andy Carver, Wagg manager.
