Finnish pet supplies chain Musti ja Mirri has acquired Zoo Support from Braganza AB.
Zoo Support is the owner of the Arken Zoo and Djurmagazinet, and is the largest pet care retail franchise in Sweden, with 91 stores.
Musti ja Mirri’s plan is to build on the Arken Zoo brand in Sweden and eventually combine the two companies’ products and sales organizations.
The deal gives Musti ja Mirra 220 stores in Finland and Sweden and annual consumer sales of EUR226 million (US$239.4 million) through franchise and corporate stores.
Musti ja Mirri’s CEO Mika Sutinen says the acquisition will improve the company’s competitiveness.
