Pet Sustainability Coalition (PSC) announces two new board members, as well as two new team members to support further expansion of sustainable business practices in the pet industry. Dozens of articles have surfaced since the Covid-19 pandemic began that show consumer demand for sustainability increasing even further. As the public witnesses environmental improvement (including a visible mountain scape from Los Angeles), they are looking to extend improvement further when they shop. To capture this increasing consumer demand, companies are eager to increase their investment in sustainable business practices and the Pet Sustainability Coalition has seen continued membership growth in 2020 after a record growth year in 2019.
Adding to its powerhouse advisory team are two purpose-driven leaders hailing from two leading pet food brands, Wellpet and Nature’s Logic. The first is Greg Kean, VP of Innovation and Product Development at the Wellpet family of brands where he has as served more than 15 years. “It is an absolute honor to participate on the PSC Board. I am excited to learn, engage and actively contribute to making a positive change within the pet food industry alongside PSC and fellow board members. I am thankful for the proactive and innovative approach PSC has taken to help organizations evolve and increase their understanding of how to work more sustainably,” says Kean.
PSC’s second addition is David Yaskulka, CEO of Nature’s Logic, formerly having been with Halo Purely For Pets and the Halo Pet Foundation for more than a decade. "The Pet Sustainability Coalition may be the most significant development in the pet industry this century, and we're proud to do our part to help. Nature's Logic's mission is to apply the logic of nature to everything we touch. That starts with 100% natural food, and extends to our planet. PSC has helped us launch our most significant new programs, and I’m honored to join it’s advisory board to contribute the future success of the organization”, says Yaskulka.
With 140+ members collectively advancing their business through environmental and social impact, PSC’s staff also recently expanded by two, adding capacity to its project management team and accreditation program. Sarah Hutcherson joins PSC as its Accreditation Manager and brings over 7 years of experience in communications and marketing as well as an MBA in sustainable business from Bard College. “I feel so fortunate that my day job revolves around helping our members strengthen their organizational resilience through sustainable business”, says Hutcherson.
Anne Klein joins PSC’s member project team with experience in sustainability consulting and over 18 years of fundraising experience in nonprofits, with a BA from the University of California Berkeley and Ed.M from Harvard University. “I’ve always been a mission-driven person and PSC gives me the unique opportunity to be a part of making positive change in the world. I’m inspired by our members and the energy and enthusiasm they bring to their sustainability journey”, says Anne.
