Pet Businesses of all types, sizes, and locations can now join the Pet Sustainability Coalition’s Positive Impact Accreditation Program, which has established an industry-wide following from businesses eager to differentiate themselves as a sustainable business and validate their sustainability claims. Once qualified, accredited brands receive retailer-facing and B2B marketing, communications, and trade show benefits to help increase awareness around their environmental and social impact.
With the new 2020-2021 accreditation year starting on July 1, 2020, PSC has expanded program benefits to include virtual lunch and learns that bring together brands and retailers as well as new opportunities to get in front of PSC’s community of 6,000 retailers and tap into earned media opportunities with partner audiences from Pets+, World Pet Association, Pets International and Pet Product News.
The Positive Impact Accreditation Program is a phenomenal way for pet companies to act on their sustainability claims and make their impact come to life. To accreditate, companies must complete a third-party sustainability assessment (takes about 1-hour to complete) and show annual improvement.
Companies who have already accredited for this year include newcomers, Vet Naturals and Because It’s Better who join more than 50 pet industry sustainability pioneers like WellPet and Petcurean, who participated last year.
"Not only did the accreditation process help Petcurean benchmark and measure our impact, but the Positive Impact Program shared our sustainability achievements with an active retailer audience, showcasing our commitment to pets, people, and the planet," said Christine Mallier, Community Relations and Sustainability Manager, PetCurean.
This Positive Impact Accreditation Program is open to all pet companies dedicated to having a positive environmental and social impact in the communities where they do business. If a company cannot make the July 1 deadline to be considered for the Top 20 accredited companies, you can still accreditate throughout the year.
