New survey by The Honest Kitchen highlights deep connections between dog owners and their pets

Study shows that 80% of participants felt an immediate connection with their dog.

A recent survey conducted by Talker Research, commissioned by The Honest Kitchen, has unveiled compelling insights into the emotional bonds between dog owners and their pets. The study, which surveyed 2,000 dog owners in committed relationships, reveals that a remarkable 80% of participants felt an immediate connection with their dog—surpassing the 69% who experienced a similar instant bond with their partner.

The survey further highlights the prevalence of "love at first sight" among pet owners, with 87% of respondents believing in this phenomenon when it comes to animals, compared to 62% for human relationships. While most dog owners felt an instant connection, 19% mentioned that their bond with their dog took time to develop. However, as with human relationships, the time and effort invested in building trust and affection resulted in a stronger connection, with 74% of respondents affirming that their bond with their pet deepened due to the care and attention they provided.

Food as an Expression of Love

A significant finding from the survey is the role of nutrition in expressing love for pets. An impressive 76% of dog owners consider food to be their "love language" when caring for their pets. This aligns with The Honest Kitchen's mission to promote good health for pets through high-quality, human-grade nutrition.
