Commercial Food Sanitation (CFS) has opened CFS Institute North America at the Intralox global headquarters in New Orleans, Louisiana, U.S., marking the company's first stand-alone training facility. CFS said the center provides technical expertise to food processors worldwide on implementing preventive programs that address food safety challenges.

The facility houses three laboratories designed to simulate plant environments for training participants. Collaboration spaces enable cross-functional learning among food manufacturing professionals in engineering, quality assurance, sanitation and operations roles, focusing on risk reduction, operational efficiency and food safety performance.

The institute offers multiple training programs, including Sanitation Essentials Training, Hygienic Design Training and Advancing Sanitation Impact Training. The facility is equipped to test food processing equipment for cleanability and hygienic design, supporting manufacturing risk assessments and innovation.

"Our new facility will be a hub for food industry collaboration, learning and innovation," said CFS General Manager Darin Zehr. "This facility is purpose-built to support the food manufacturing industry and its professionals with cutting-edge resources and a collaborative environment."

CFS Institute North America joins a global training network with locations in Amsterdam, São Paulo, Shanghai, Monterrey and Melbourne. The company has trained more than 5,300 participants at its global training centers to date.

"This new facility is more than just a space, it's a place where we can instill a true passion for food safety and empower teams through hands-on education," said CFS Global Training Manager Nicole Cammarata. "By combining training with real-world application, we're not only helping provide safer food to the world but also shaping a culture where food safety is the top-priority."

Commercial Food Sanitation, an Intralox company, provides education programs and consulting services to help food manufacturers implement preventive food safety programs.
