American Humane receives grant

The PEDIGREE Foundation is donating $125,000 to the organization.

American Humane, the nation’s first national humane organization and the world’s largest certifier of animal welfare practices, has received a $125,000 grant from PEDIGREE Foundation. The grant will support American Humane’s animal rescue programs, which are crucial in responding to natural disasters and other emergencies.

The American Humane Rescue Team is known for its swift response to crises, deploying first response units equipped with state-of-the-art rescue vehicles to aid animals in danger. This grant marks another chapter in the ongoing partnership between PEDIGREE Foundation and American Humane, with the foundation having supported various disaster relief efforts over the past five years, including responses to the California wildfires of 2020 and Hurricane Ida.

Dr. Robin Ganzert, president and CEO of American Humane, expressed deep gratitude for the foundation's continued support. "Their generosity will not only help countless animals but also help us offer hope and healing to communities across the country. We could not do this critical work without the contributions of organizations like PEDIGREE Foundation," Ganzert said.

Deb Fair, executive director of PEDIGREE Foundation, emphasized the importance of the partnership, stating, "Through this grant, we are proud to provide them with the resources needed in communities across the country to keep animals safe."

American Humane’s Rescue Team, which has been active for over 100 years, continues to monitor disaster situations and work closely with local officials to ensure that resources are deployed effectively. Their efforts have been crucial in caring for stranded, injured and lost animals, providing them with the necessary physical and mental care in the aftermath of disasters.
