Irish Dog Foods, Ireland’s Exporter of the Year for 2017, is hoping to be named a winner at the grand final of the European Business Awards on May 22–23, 2018 in Warsaw, Poland.

Irish Dog Foods, based in Kildare, Ireland, has reached the final after being chosen as a National Winner by independent judges from a list of almost 3,000 businesses named ‘Ones to Watch’ in 2017. The European Business Awards created the list after a review of over 110,000 European companies.

In February 2018, Irish Dog Foods was one of 11 national winners in Ireland at an exclusive event held at the British Ambassador’s residence in Dublin for the European Business Awards. Irish Dog Foods was selected by a panel of independent judges including senior business leaders, politicians and academics representing individual countries at the event. The company will now go on to represent Ireland in the Business of the Year awards category in the final stage of the competition.

At the final in Poland, for the first time in the European Business Awards’ 11-year history, each finalist will be judged live as they will have a stand to display their success, and 55 business experts will come from across Europe to decide the winners of the 12 categories.

Irish Dog Foods’ global growth

Irish Dog Foods is a pet food manufacturer in own-label and branded products for retailers, wholesalers and discounters across the globe. The company has expanded its production facilities in Naas to over 220,000 square feet, increasing production capacity by 350 percent in 18 months, in addition to expansion at other production sites at home and abroad. Irish Dog Foods recognised that the key to the success of its growth strategy was to concentrate on growing the company’s export markets. The company is a supplier to many retailers who have a presence in multiple markets.

“Our focus has been on innovation and growth through excellent customer service,” said Liam Queally, managing director of Irish Dog Foods. “We have seen dramatic growth in the last few years and are delighted to be representing Ireland at the European Awards.”
