Ahead of the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race in Talladega, AL, on Oct. 13 the Pedigree Foundation provided a $5,000 grant to support the work the Greater Birmingham Humane Society (GBHS) does to care for animals displaced and in transition due to natural disasters.

NASCAR drivers David and Todd Gilliland and FOX Sports NASCAR personality Jamie Little made a visit to the humane society to see firsthand how they help displaced animals in need, including meeting dogs rescued from Hurricane Michael. In addition, the Pedigree brand donated more than 1,500 pounds of food to ensure the GBHS can focus on providing help for displaced animals in their care.

While visiting the shelter, driver Todd Gilliland couldn’t resist making “Winston,” a Golden Retriever puppy available for adoption, part of the Gilliland family. Todd and his family adopted the pup, giving it a loving forever home. You can see the excitement Todd has in this post from Jamie Little.

The Pedigree brand and Pedigree Foundation sponsored the father/son, puppy/dog entry of David and Todd Gilliland in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race at Talladega Superspeedway.

It is easy for fans to help. Visit https://donate.pedigreefoundation.org/GBHS to donate to the GBHS, with the goal of matching the Pedigree Foundation grant and helping to make a big difference for animals in need.
