Blue Buffalo, the nation’s leading natural pet food, announced Nov. 8 that they will join Sierra Delta in a national campaign to support service dogs for veterans. Sierra Delta is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the education, advocacy, promotion and funding of the service dog industry.

During the month of November, Blue Buffalo will donate 1 percent of BLUE Freedom dog food sales to Sierra Delta, up to $125,000. Blue Freedom dog and cat foods are sold at pet specialty stores and online retailers. Visit BlueBuffalo.com for a store locator.

Pet parents can also donate directly at BlueBuffaloFoundation.org.

“Facilitating the training and placement of service dogs for veterans is an important part of our mission at the Blue Buffalo Foundation,” said David Petrie, President of Blue Buffalo Foundation. “We have seen the game-changing experience in the lives of veterans when they partner with canine companions, and we want to put an end to the critical shortage of service dogs for our military heroes.”

Sierra Delta works through a national network of established partners to train service dogs.

“Service dogs provide such a necessary therapy option for veterans coping with both visible and invisible wounds,” said BJ Ganem, President and CEO of Sierra Delta. “With the support of the Blue Buffalo Foundation, we’re able to improve the lives of so many veterans disabled in the service of our country.”
