After the devastation Hurricane Michael brought to the Florida Panhandle, Florida-based Caru Pet Food donated dog stews to the Humane Society of Pinellas County in Clearwater, Fla. As one of the forerunners of rescuing hurricane-affected pets in the state, the Humane Society of Pinellas County received thousands of boxes of the company’s Classic Stews to make feeding these rescued pets less of a worry and to aid the shelter’s continued relief efforts.

“The state of Florida has weathered many storms over the past couple of years, and we’re extremely humbled to be able to assist the hardworking folks who do so much for rescue pets,” says Adrian Pettyan, CEO and Co-Founder of Caru Pet Food. “The Humane Society of Pinellas County has devoted their resources to saving the lives of pets endangered by Hurricane Michael, and we’re grateful for their dedication and compassion toward displaced pets during this terrible emergency.”

This isn’t the first donation Caru Pet Food has made to hurricane relief efforts. Last year in the aftermath of Hurricanes Harvey and Irma, Caru contributed over 4,000 meals for rescue pets in Texas and Florida. Additionally, in the last year, Caru donated over 2,400 bags of treats and more than 720 boxes of stews to shelters around the country.

Inspired by their beloved spokespup, Karu, founders Adrian and Pamela Pettyan’s mission is to provide the best nutrition for the health and happiness of pets. All of Caru Pet Food’s stews for cats and dogs are made with human-grade ingredients in the U.S.A. They’re full of flavor as well as vitamins and nutrients needed for a healthy, active lifestyle.
