BabelBark, Inc., a pet related software developer, announces the addition of Bruce Truman as vice president of sales and marketing, effective Jan. 1, 2019. Truman arrives during an expanded growth phase at BabelBark and will lead the company's marketing and sales efforts in the veterinary industry and pet services space.

"Truman has the leadership experience and a proven track record in nurturing startups in the companion animal space, which is exactly what we need to take our business to the next level," said Roy Stein, BabelBark, founder and CEO. "At BabelBark he will harness his deep understanding of the animal health industry to further strengthen relationships with distribution and corporate practice groups. He shares our values and our focus on innovation, and he places the same strong emphasis as we do on helping the pet live the happiest, healthiest life possible."

Launched in 2016, BabelBark connects thousands of pet parents and pets with pet care businesses (including veterinary practices, trainers, shelters, groomers, walkers, pet sitters, boarding kennels, and more within the pet care community) through a digital platform with a mobile application.

"I am honored to join BabelBark, and very much look forward to working with the management team to build on the solid foundation developed over the last two years," said Truman. "BabelBark is truly in a position to help further connect pet parents, veterinary professionals and the pet professional community through every step of a pet's health and wellness needs."

Truman is the immediate past president of VetPartners and a CATalyst Council board member. He previously co-chaired the American Veterinary Medical Association Veterinary Procedural Terminology Council in a collaborative effort to standardize terminology used by companion animal practices. Truman writes and speaks nationally on the topic of emerging pet technologies and how veterinary practices can best leverage those innovations.

"Our success is really a reflection of the character of the people in our organization," said Stein. "Bruce will be a valuable asset as we continue to grow a community focused on better health outcomes for pets."

Raising the bar in pet care connections
