The American Feed Industry Association (AFIA) is now accepting nominations for its new award, the Friend of Pet Food Award. The first award will be presented at AFIA’s 2020 Pet Food Conference, in conjunction with the International Production & Processing Expo.
“The AFIA Pet Food Committee decided to create this award because we feel strongly that there are a lot of leaders in the industry who are deserving of this type of recognition,” said Louise Calderwood, AFIA’s director of regulatory affairs. “We are very excited to select candidates and present this new award.”
Launched this year, the Friend of Pet Food Award will recognize individuals who have made significant contributions to support the growth of the pet food industry. A nominee will typically be currently employed and active in the pet food industry or an associated area, such as new product development, transportation, regulatory, academia, media or promotion.
Nominations will be accepted for the new award until Sept. 26. For more information, visit AFIA’s website.
