Anchor Ingredients, a Fargo, North Dakota-based leader in pet food ingredients, has opened its $40 million transload and ingredient processing facility in Richmond, Indiana. Spanning over 40 acres in the Midwest Industrial Park, this facility aims to serve as a key distribution hub for top pet food brands, leveraging its strategic location to streamline the supply chain for pet food manufacturers across North America.
Anchor’s new facility offers extensive features to enhance its supply chain services, including bulk storage, climate-controlled warehouse space, safety stock management, grain origination, quality assurance testing, and on-site processing. Located near I-70 with access to the Norfolk Southern mainline, the facility ensures efficient, reliable ingredient delivery.

Local partnerships and support, including contributions from the Richmond Redevelopment Commission, Wayne County Economic Development Corporation, and the Indiana Economic Development Corporation (IEDC), have been instrumental. Norfolk Southern designed integrated rail logistics, and the IEDC provided incentive-based tax credits and grants to support advanced technology at the facility.
