Amid a rising demand for its output, Polish pet food company Dogs Plate is making efforts in its manufacturing capacities, and advancing plans to add new products to its growing range, according to a senior company representative.

“When it comes to Dogs Plate, in 2025, we continue to place emphasis on increasing our processing capacities to match the demand of our clients. With this in mind, we are scaling up our automation, testing new machines that will enhance our production processes,” Agata Czerwińska, the managing director of Dogs Plate, told Petfoodindustry.com.

The managing director said that Dogs Plate is planning to purchase a number of new machines for its production facility.

“The demand for our Premium product line is increasing and this makes us very happy,” she said. “In 2024, we introduced pet food under the Gastro+ brand, both for cats and dogs, which have proven to be a huge success. They are based on very rare kangaroo meat which is very low-fat, and this is probably why it is so popular.”

In addition to this, Dogs Plate has rolled out products with pet food with goat meat under the Hypoallergic line for dogs and Allergic for cats.

“For dogs, we have additionally produced Gastro pet food with venison meat,” according to Czerwińska. “All of these products are designed to serve the most fragile stomachs to ensure their proper functioning.”

This year, Dogs Plate is aiming to roll out three new pet food products for puppies, and also three products for kittens, with pending test results.

“In 2025, we also want to launch two new product lines: liquid veterinary products for in-hospital treatment, and BARF,” according to the managing director.

The Polish business is headquartered in Swarzędz, in the country’s western part, and operates a manufacturing facility in Poznań, about 12 kilometers from its offices.

Croatian pet food brand ramps up foreign sales

Croatia’s Tvornica Dobre Hrane (Good Food Factory), the country’s only manufacturer of extruded pet food which operates under the brand of Voli Voli, has managed to increase its exports to around 85 to 90 percent of the firm’s sales. Encouraged by the rising sales, the business is investing in its manufacturing capacities, according to senior company representatives.

Alongside its rising sales in a number of foreign markets, the Croatian manufacturer is also benefiting from the increasing demand for its products in its domestic market.

Croatia’s “pet food market has been continuously growing since 2019. Between 2019 and 2022, it expanded by 4 percent [annually], and it rose by 5.3 percent in 2023,” Mario Lukić, the chief executive and co-owner of Tvornica Dobre Hrane, told local news site Lidermedia.hr.

“Production and sales are growing month after month, and we want to establish ourselves as the leading brand of dog and cat food in the domestic market,” according to the firm’s CEO.

Voli Voli’s product range is focused on dry food for cats and dogs. The company has carried out manufacturing activities since 2012.

In 2024, the Croatian business allocated an estimated 85 to 90 percent of its output to export sales, according to its chief executive. Some of Voli Voli’s main foreign markets include Italy, France, Greece, Poland, and Romania. In addition to this, the company is currently holding talks to launch export sales to a number of new European markets. These are to include the Czech Republic, Estonia, Latvia, Poland, and Slovakia.

“The current annual production capacity [of Voli Voli’s plant] is 11,000 tons, but we are working to increase the capacity,” Lukić said. “We believe in our team and in the quality of our product. We learn, develop and grow gradually.”

The Croatian company is headquartered in Virovitica, in the country's north-eastern part.
