Farmina Pet Foods has opened its first U.S. manufacturing facility in Reidsville, North Carolina, U.S., marking a $115 million investment expected to create 200 jobs over five years.
The 150,000-square-foot facility is Farmina’s first production site outside Europe and represents a strategic move to localize manufacturing for the growing North American pet food market. Seventy-five positions have already been filled across a range of roles, including machine operators, technicians and managers.
"Farmina's decision to establish its U.S. operations in North Carolina is a strong endorsement of our skilled workforce and our growing reputation as a business-friendly hub for modern, innovative manufacturing," said State Senator Phil Berger at the June 11 opening ceremony.
The plant brings Farmina’s European standards and technologies to the U.S., including ingredient sourcing and food safety protocols that exceed U.S. requirements.
“This belief drives us to create the highest quality nutrition for our four-legged family members,” said Loris Rinaldi, CEO of Farmina Pet Foods North America. “With our new Reidsville facility, we're proud to bring European standards, premium ingredients, and personalized support to pet parents across the U.S.”
The project was supported by state and local economic development agencies, including funding from North Carolina’s Job Development Investment Grant.
