Archway has acquired Bright Planet Pet, a company specializing in sustainable, vegan dog treats. The acquisition amount was not disclosed.

Bright Planet LogoFounded five years ago, Bright Planet Pet manufactures 100% vegan dog treats designed as environmentally conscious alternatives to traditional meat-based products. The company reports its products generate up to 90% less carbon emissions and use significantly less water than conventional treats.

"Over the past five years, I've had the honor of leading Bright Planet through product development, sales growth, and the journey of launching a new category in pet treats," said Katherine Ellison, founder of Bright Planet Pet. "It hasn't always been easy, but it's been one of the most rewarding chapters of my life."

Bright Planet Pet's products are currently distributed through Amazon, Chewy and Pet Valu stores across Canada. The company focuses on allergy-friendly formulations alongside its sustainability positioning.

Ellison expressed confidence in the partnership, stating that "Archway is the right home for Bright Planet's next chapter. With their leadership, resources and expertise, I'm confident the brand will grow in ways we only dreamed of — and continue to lead the way in climate-friendly pet nutrition."

Bright Planet Pet’s product line will continue under its existing brand name. The acquisition allows Archway to expand into the growing plant-based pet food segment.
