According to KSL.com, firefighters responded to a fire at the Alphia dog food manufacturing plant in Ogden, Utah, U.S., on October 16. Fire officials reported that a hot oven containing dog biscuits was the likely cause of the blaze.

The fire began around 3 p.m. when crews noticed unusual smoke coming from one of the plant's smokestacks, KSL.com reported. After consulting with a forklift operator who confirmed the smoke was abnormal, fire crews contacted plant management and discovered the overheated oven on the second floor where pet food is produced.

According to KSL.com, the incident prompted a full structure response and complete evacuation of the facility, which spans an entire city block. Temporary road closures were implemented during the response but have since been lifted. Deputy Fire Chief Matt Hess told KSL.com that an investigation into the cause remains ongoing.
