D&D Ingredients marks 50 years in animal, pet nutrition

Manufacturer and distributor has grown to serve customers in 45 states and 42 countries since its 1976 founding.

D&D Ingredients, a manufacturer and ingredient distributor serving the animal feed and pet food industries, is marking its 50th anniversary in 2026. Founded in Delphos, Ohio, U.S., by Doc and Dorothy Miller, the company now reaches customers across 45 states and 42 countries.

"In 2026, D&D Ingredients marks 50 years of innovation, collaboration and dedication to the animal nutrition industry," said Kristopher DiTommaso, general manager of D&D Ingredients. "This milestone celebrates everything the D&D team built together with our partners, and the opportunities ahead as we continue helping our customers succeed in business."

The company employs 160 people and operates more than 500,000 square feet of warehouse space. Its services include premixing, blending, custom grinding, co-packing, transloading, thermal heat treatment and distribution. 

D&D Ingredients carries an inventory of more than 900 ingredient items and maintains a dedicated trucking fleet. The company holds third-party certifications for feed safety and quality management and has 12 trained preventive controls qualified individuals (PCQIs) on staff.

In 2021, D&D Ingredients joined the Swanson Family of companies.

Looking ahead, the company said it plans to continue investing in rail capacity, warehouse expansion and inventory management technology.
