Ollie announces new chief impact officer

Mia Davis will spearhead initiatives to elevate the company's impact on the environment, society and the well-being of pets and their owners.

Ollie, the industry leader in fresh dog food, proudly announces the appointment of Mia Davis as chief impact officer (CIO). In this role, Davis will spearhead strategic initiatives to elevate Ollie's impact on the environment, society and the well-being of pets and their owners. Her efforts will focus on ensuring that Ollie’s operations, products and policies foster thriving communities, safeguard the environment and set new benchmarks for the pet food industry.

Davis is a nationally recognized expert in safety, sustainability, advocacy and social impact. She brings over a decade of experience, having previously developed standards for major beauty brands such as Beautycounter and Credo. Davis has also served as an advisor to organizations like Safer Made, Novi Connect and rePurpose Global. Her leadership in these areas makes her an invaluable addition to the Ollie team.

Key Initiatives Under Mia Davis' Leadership:

  • Pet Sustainability Coalition: Shortly after joining Ollie, Davis led the brand's initiative to become a member of the Pet Sustainability Coalition, furthering the company’s commitment to sustainable practices

  • Reduction in Paper Consumption: Davis oversaw the transition from paper feeding guidelines to digital versions for subscribers, significantly reducing Ollie’s paper consumption by approximately 84,700 pounds—saving the equivalent of 1.7 acres of forest.

  • Greenhouse Gas Assessment: Over the summer of 2024, Davis initiated Ollie’s first comprehensive Greenhouse Gas (GHG) assessment, covering Scopes 1-3. This assessment will enable the company to set actionable reduction goals in 2025, with annual evaluations to track progress.

  • Sustainable Ingredient Sourcing: By the end of 2024, under Davis’ direction, Ollie will begin sourcing certified and traceable sustainable proteins and prioritize ingredients grown through sustainable practices, such as regenerative farming.

  • Packaging and Social Responsibility: Davis will collaborate with the Ollie team to reduce packaging waste, enhance environmental health and establish social responsibility policies. She will also forge partnerships with organizations dedicated to placing stray animals in permanent homes, removing plastic waste from the environment and supporting communities impacted by environmental pollution.

“Ollie is a pioneer in crafting fresh, human-grade nutrition to materially improve the health of America's dogs. We are delighted to welcome Mia Davis to the Ollie pack as our CIO and extend that pioneering spirit to sustainability,” said Nick Stafford, Ollie CEO. “With her proven track record of industry disruption and creating actionable change, she will lead Ollie’s important work in raising standards in the pet food industry.”

"I’m energized by Ollie’s commitment to create meaningful change," said Davis. "Understanding our growing company's footprint—from carbon to chemicals to packaging—is the first step to forging a path forward that will take Ollie well beyond the current industry standards, and ultimately elevate the entire pet food industry."
