Wipak Group has revealed a series of multi-million-euro investments, advancing its commitment to sustainability and innovation. These investments, planned across several of Wipak's sites, reflect the company's goal of becoming a zero-carbon organization by 2025, aligning with its decarbonization strategy. Wipak has already achieved a 70% reduction in operational carbon emissions (scope 1 and 2) since 2019.
Investments in Finland for Health and Food Packaging
At Wipak Oy in Finland, a new state-of-the-art extrusion production line was recently completed, enhancing the company’s ability to offer recycle-ready packaging, including PE-based films for Flowpack and lidding applications. Additionally, cleanroom facilities for the Wipak Steriking product line are undergoing modernization, ensuring top-tier safety and quality for hospital sterilization packaging solutions.
European Expansion for Sustainable Packaging Solutions
Wipak’s sustainability strategy extends to its other European sites. Wipak Walsrode in Germany is set to receive a substantial investment to improve manufacturing processes and logistics through cutting-edge technology. Meanwhile, the Wipak Iberica site in Spain will also see multi-million-euro investments aimed at supporting sustainable packaging production.
At Wipak Gryspeert in France, the company is implementing a new advanced cast line, "Greencast," which enhances the production of mono-material solutions for thermoforming applications, supporting the development of recyclable packaging.
